Balance is key to almost every physical sport and activity. Kids need to be active daily and balance plays a big role in the development of our children. People of all ages and abilities can benefit from working on their balance and from being active.
This bike has been transformative for our four-year-old. He was struggling to make the transition from stabilisers to balancing. However, he was so thrilled with this new 14″ bike that, within a day, he balanced and coasted down the driveway without pedals. Two days later, his face shone with joy when we attached the included easy-ride pedals kit, and he realised he could ride without training wheels. Priceless.

The inexpensive bikes available at Anaconda or at Kmart are not worth it. My son excelled on his balance bike, so we thought a high-quality bike was too costly. Unfortunately, he struggled significantly with our budget bike. However, as soon as he tried the Lightweight Rookie 18 (without the pedals), he was confidently zooming around again. The meticulous craftsmanship of these bikes justifies the price. Don’t deceive yourself with the thought, “It’s just a children’s bike.” Spend a little extra, and your child will enjoy it much more.
